Corona Del Mar

Corona del Mar, or “CdM” as the locals like to say, is as beautiful as its name translated from Spanish is “The Crown of the Sea”. Sitting on the foot of the San Joaquin Hills and fronting the Pacific Ocean, Corona del Mar ranges along a bluff at the south end of Newport Beach and includes some of Orange County’s most prestigious residential areas surrounding a trendy seaside village.

Corona del Mar is approximately 25.3 square miles and has a population of approximately 12,394 people. This desirable and scenic community is conveniently located close to Fashion Island and John Wayne Airport. Corona del Mar is known for its fantastic beaches, tide pools, cliff-side views, unique flower street names and quaint village shops. It’s popular beaches include Big Corona and Little Corona, as well as the hidden gem of China Cove.

The charming village offers a unique collection of shops, restaurants and businesses. With a mixture of over five-hundred businesses, locals and visitors often walk through the town to enjoy the fancy eateries, specialty boutiques and small business services. Some of the cafes that are popular in CdM include Rose Bakery, Summer House, and Zinc Cafe. Popular restaurants with bar scenes include Gulfstream, CdM Restaurant, and the Quiet Woman.

Shore Cliffs

shore-cliffs Shore Cliffs is a residential area in Corona del Mar encompassing approximately 146 home sites. The Shore Cliffs community provides a private beach for the exclusive use of its residents. Shore Cliffs is located on the coastal side of Coast Highway and though it is not a gated community, it is a highly desired community along the coast. Many of the homes have been reconstructed into beautiful mansions, however there are still some original cottages. The homes sit on tree-lined streets, some offering incredible ocean and sunset views. Residents enjoy the close proximity to the shops and dining opportunities of the CdM village and Crystal Cove Shopping Center.

Cameo Shores

cameo-shoresCameo Shores is a small enclave of luxury homes located next to the beach with rows of single-loaded streets that work from the beach and gradually up toward the Pacific Coast Highway. Cameo Shores has approximately 170 home sites and became the first residential area that the Irvine Company developed. The area was built in 1960 with diverse architectural styles and terraced lots to maintain gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. The past decade has seen the second generation of homes arriving, many of which are larger in size and provide subterranean entries and garage entrances. This ability has significantly increased the value of the homes in the neighborhood.

Residents gain access to the private gated beaches of Cameo Shores and Crystal Cove, as well as Roxbury Park. Cameo Shores is also closely located to the shops and restaurants in Corona del Mar and Crystal Cove.

Cameo Highlands

cameo-highlandsCameo Highlands is located just across Pacific Coast Highway from its counterpart, Cameo Shores in Corona del Mar. There are approximately 142 home sites located in Cameo Highlands. Residents of both Corona del Mar communities have access to the private sandy beaches. Roxbury Park has a lovely sitting area with views of the ocean and Pelican Hill Golf Course, a playground and a large grass area great for get-togethers with the local residents. Home styles range from original ranch homes to brand new modern residences. Most of the homes offer incredible views of the ocean and Catalina, due to the terraced lots and single-level homes.
